Al Caiola is a master studio guitarist, one of the busiest on the New York scene through the 1960s and '70s. In between backing other artists, Caiola found time to record dozens of pop, easy listening and jazz albums under his own name for labels such as Savoy, Time, United Artists and RCA. Unfortunately, little of this material has been released on CD, although a poor quality compilation of his United Artists recordings (32 tracks) was released in Australia in July 2002.
Caiola no longer appears to be active. His last album, released in 2001, was "Guitar for Latin Lovers," available through some of the major on-line merchants. In later years, he had also been touring with Steve & Eydie.
Unfortunately, there is no longer a website devoted to Al Caiola and his music. A one-page site that had been run by his manager is now defunct. A short biography and a listing of his albums can be found at the SPACE AGE POP MUSIC site.
